Amanda Sucar Warrener, born in Mexico City in 1978. Amanda did Media Studies at the National University of Mexico, as well as some courses at the Film Studies School at Carleton University in Canada. She started her professional career working for the National Film Archive in Mexico, as part of the Programming and Promotion Department for three years. She then became part of the 2007 Ambulante Documentary Film Festival team, in charge of parallel activities, such as special screenings at schools and museums, as well as round table discussions; and promotion of the festival. Later on she worked for an independent film distribution company programming its films around Mexico in theaters and helping with the organization of the annual French Film Tour. In 2009 she returned to Ambulante taking over the Outreach Coordination position and organizing parallel activities, which she is currently still doing. Amanda also is a frequent contributor for the film section of a widespread Mexican magazine as well as a past contributor to the film section of a former well known radio show produced by the National University radio station.
